The 21-year-old female driver killed in a single-vehicle crash on the San Diego (415) Freeway in Carson, California, has been identified by the California Highway Patrol. Updates made by the agency to the car accident report on Sunday, September 20th, named Leslie Lisette Aguilar, as the fatal victim.
The CHP said that the Los Angeles resident lost her life on Saturday, September 19th, after crashing at about 5:45 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that Aguilar drove a white 2018 Dodge Challenger.
The woman veered to the right, down a dirt/ice plant embankment, and struck a eucalyptus tree. The CHP said a representative from the coroner’s office arrived at the scene around 6:27 a.m. They added that Aguilar was the only occupant of the car, and did not provide any additional information.
Motor vehicle accidents, whether solo or involving other cars occur when not expected. The best ways to prevent them is driving with care and caution, obeying traffic rules and regulations, and following safety tips released by law enforcement and traffic agencies.
Some of the latter covers driving with headlights on at night, checking for fluid or oil leakage after refueling, and scanning the sides of the road every 6 to 8 seconds. Expect other drivers to make mistakes, and keep adequate space in between vehicles.
Never cause an accident on purpose and give other drivers the right of way when needed. Stick to the right lane if not passing and exiting, and look carefully before going through intersections.
