Cinthya Karely Rodriguez Revealed as the Third Victim of Interstate 15 Bus Crash

The authorities have revealed the name of the third woman who lost her life in the San Diego Interstate 15 bus accident. The San Diego Medical Examiner identified her as 23-year-old, Cinthya Karely Rodriguez.

The accident that claimed the young woman’s life happened near the Fallbrook area on Saturday, February 22nd. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, along with two other women.

The women were identified earlier as Maria De La Luz Diaz, 67, of Riverside, and Julia Perez Cornejo, 73, of Pasadena. The three ladies were among 20 passengers traveling in a charter bus heading to Tijuana from El Monte, California.

The remaining seventeen passengers were injured, with some sustaining more severe injuries than others. The driver of the bus, who got identified as a 52-year-old man from Whittier, sustained minor injuries.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the driver lost control while trying to navigate a steep lane. He was heading south on the interstate, on Route 76 in Pala Mesa and north of Escondido.

The road was slick from rain and the driver could not maintain control when he tried to swerve to the right. The bus overturned several times, resting on the side of the road.

The driver cooperated with the authorities and took a blood test to rule out that he was driving under the influence. State and federal agencies are investigating the accident.

The investigators are trying to rule out mechanical failure as a possible cause. The bus company has passed all inspections in the last two years, and has no record of collisions. Contacting a bus accident attorney to learn your rights is the most important decision you can make.
