DUI Motorist, Konstantin Vondyano Arrested for Causing Injury to Four Commuters

The legal counsel of a drunk driving attorney is needed after a suspected DUI motorist was arrested in Lafayette, California following a two-vehicle collision that left four injured. The incident took place at night on Monday, April 6, according to the reports provided by the California Highway Patrol.

Officers were dispatched to Highway 24, near Alcanes Road exit, upon reports of traffic disruption on the highway just after 9 pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Konstantin Vondyano, 22, of Pinole, was driving a Lexus Sedan, with three male passengers on board.

The sedan was reportedly speeding through the westbound traffic lanes on the highway when it rear-ended a Safeway semi tractor-trailer which was also westbound on the same route.

The impact of the collision caused severe damages to the Lexus, with its four occupants sustaining major injuries as a result.

Emergency responders transported the four injured victims to an area hospital for treatment. However, the operator of the big rig emerged from the traffic wreck unscathed.

Officers determined that Vondyano was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. The Pinole resident, who remains admitted at the hospital, was arrested on suspicions of felony DUI.

Investigations into the two-vehicle collision are still in the works.

DUI is a serious offence under the state’s traffic safety regulations. Motorists involved in DUI crashes are expected to involve a drunk driving attorney before the case proceeds further.
