DUI Suspect Toniyo Atkinson Arrested by San Bernardino Police for Traffic Collision

Toniyo Atkinson

A 42-year-old man who crashed into another vehicle at an intersection in the San Bernardino area of California would need a top accident lawyer’s service. On Monday, June 1st, the police revealed the name of the suspect as Toniyo Atkinson, a city resident.

In a news briefing, the San Bernardino Police Department said that the accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, around 2:14 a.m. At the time, Atkinson was driving a Chevy Tahoe SUV on the roadway where Lynwood Avenue intersects with Mountain Avenue.

The investigators said that at the same time, a 37-year-old San Bernardino resident drove a Honda Accord through the stop sign at the intersection directly into the SUV’s path. Both vehicles collided, and the second driver suffered significant wounds that ended their life.

The police did not release the deceased’s identity pending when they notify their relatives. They said that speed and intoxicating elements contributed to the tragic accident, and determined that Toniyo Atkinson was intoxicated.

The SBPD arrested him on DUI suspicion and remanded him at the West Valley Detention Center. Jail records showed that the suspect’s bail is $100,000, and he was still in custody by Monday evening.

The investigation into the accident is active, and anyone with helpful and relevant information should contact the police station on the listed line. Those involved in DUI-related crashes should hire a top accident lawyer for legal advice and representation.
