Efrain Martinez Survives Highway 99 Crash with Severe Injuries

A 19-year-old male teenager sustained severe injuries on Monday morning, July 13th, after crashing his car on Highway 99 in the Tulare County area of California. The accident report named Efrain Martinez of Fresno as the victim.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place a little after midnight near Traver. The investigators said that Martinez was driving along a frontage road east of the highway when he suddenly went northbound through a fence. The move took him directly into the path of a semi-truck, and they collided.

Officer Justin Montooth said that the collision left the victim pinned inside his silver Honda after the crash. The paramedics transported Martinez to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he received treatment for his injuries. There is no update on his condition.

The CHP said that drugs or (and) alcohol do not appear as factors in the crash. There is no additional information at this time.

Facts from accident reports show that one of the primary causes of motor vehicle collisions is the negligence of drivers. A motorist behaves negligently if he or she drinks and drives, operates his or her vehicle recklessly, speeds on the roadway, runs a red light, disobeys stop signs, or eats, calls, or texts, while driving.

Other examples of negligent behavior are driving on the wrong lane, changing lanes illegally and suddenly, or tailgating. Drivers should desist from the preceding and the above by cultivating safe practices when driving and obeying traffic rules and regulations.
