Accident reports obtained from the California Highway Patrol confirmed the death of two people who met their ends in a solo-vehicle crash on Tuesday, May 5. The incident, which left another victim injured, took place in Mineral, California.
The CHP divulged in a press release that the mother-daughter pair died at about 5:20 a.m. when their motorhome crashed into a tree.
The report affirmed that before the crash, a female motorist, Courtney Loney, 38, was driving the vehicle along SR 36, with her two children asleep in a bunk above the cab.
For undetermined reasons, the 2005 Tioga home drifted off the state route and collided with a tree. The impact of the collision caused the 10-year-old girl, Emma Loney, to be ejected from the vehicle, while her brother, Mason Rose, 12, was partially expelled.
Courtney remained trapped inside the dented vehicle until the emergency response crew arrived, and medics pronounced her dead at the scene. The two children suffered major injuries in the encounter. An ambulance transported the injured juveniles to Elizabeth’s Hospital, where sadly, Emma later gave in to her wounds.
As stated in the accident reports, the victims were all residents of Dutton, Montana. Superintendent Erica Allen of Dutton/Brady Public Schools, where both kids attended, shared an update on Masons’ health in an email notification. The email confirmed that the preteen had undergone surgery successfully, and doctors expected him to recover.
