Eric Bravo Injured in Sideswipe Collision While Fleeing Crash Site in Spring Valley

Auto accident attorneys may be called upon after a hit-and-run driver, fleeing the scene of an initial non-injury accident broadsided another vehicle, causing injuries. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, May 13, in the Spring Valley area of California.

The California Highway Patrol reported that at about 11:15 a.m., a motorist struck another vehicle near the intersection of Paraiso Avenue and San Francisco Street. He then fled the scene in a 2009 Honda Accord. The occupants of the Toyota Camry the suspect collided with went unscathed.

Officers said the motorist, identified as 19-year-old Eric Fernandez Bravo, barely drove a few blocks when his Honda crashed into another vehicle on the driver’s side. The impact of the broadside collision sent Bravo’s car and the 2010 Volkswagen CC he struck swaying into parked vehicles on Jamacha Boulevard. A male passenger in the Honda jumped out of the out-of-control vehicle and ran off.

The female operator of the Volkswagen suffered life-threatening injuries, and medics transported her to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Bravo also sustained injuries and received treatment at the same hospital, located in San Diego.

Following his release from the trauma centre, deputies would detain the Springfield teenager in a county jail, on suspicion of hit-and-run, and reckless driving causing injury. Officers are yet to identify the passenger who alighted from Bravo’s car and fled during the traffic encounter.

Commuters involved in traffic collisions can seek legal counsel from experienced auto accident attorneys to evaluate all possible outcomes before pursuing a lawsuit.
