Hector Rodriguez Identified as Victim of South Gate Solo Auto Crash

The police in South Gate, 7 miles from Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, March 5th, identified the man who died in a solo auto crash. He is 27-year-old Hector Rodriguez of Lynwood.

Rodriguez departed from the world on Saturday, February 29th, after he crashed the vehicle he was driving. The accident took place at about 10:42 p.m. in the 5900-block of East Firestone Boulevard.

Authorities reported that Rodriguez lost control of his car and crashed it into a light pole. The man suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.

A passenger in the ill-fated vehicle, whose identity was not released, suffered undisclosed injuries, and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The authorities are still investigating to find out what led to the accident.

Drugs and alcohol do not seem to have played a role in the accident. The two are top of the leading causes of road traffic accidents, as well as over speeding, and driving while distracted.

The recklessness of drivers and failure to yield the road to other road users also factor in the reason why accidents happen. Running red lights and stop signs, unsafe lane changes, and wrong-way driving, as well as improper turns and tailgating, leads to crashes.

At other times, a defect in the design of the car contributes to a driver losing control and having an accident. The best way to act when in an accident is to contact and cooperate with the authorities and provide all relevant information.
