Hit-and-Run Driver, Kelley Ball, Arrested for Modesto Two-Vehicle Collision

45-year-old Kelley Ball, the suspected DUI hit-and-run driver involved in a two-vehicle collision in the Modesto area of California, would need a drunk driving attorney’s expertise. The Modesto Police Department took her into custody after the incident on Sunday, July 19th.

The car accident report showed that the occurrence led to the death of a girl child while her family sustained different degrees of injuries. The events leading to the collision started with Ball heading north on Sisk Road in a 2006 Jeep Loredo.

At the same time, a Nissan Altima was turning left from Parkway Plaza onto Sisk. The suspect then ran the red light at the intersection of the two roads, ultimately broadsiding the second vehicle with a family-of-four. It happened around 7 p.m. near the Walmart entrance.

The impact left the 12-year-old girl sitting at the back seat of the Nissan with fatal wounds, and paramedics pronounced her dead. An air ambulance conveyed the victim’s 15-year-old brother to a Bay Area hospital to treat significant injuries.

The medics took the victims’ father, who also drove the vehicle to a local hospital in severe condition. Their mother also ended up hospitalized with minor wounds. The MPD did not release the name of any of the victims.

Ball fled the crash site on foot, and she reportedly entered the nearby Walmart and attempted to take a face mask and pair of shoes. The investigators believe she was trying to hide her identity. They later found the suspect a short while after and placed her under arrest.

The woman is facing charges of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony hit-and-run, vandalism, and felony DUI. Records showed that she has prior DUI convictions. The investigation remains active.
