California has one of the highest motorcycle accident rates in the United States. There are over 800,000 riders of the two-wheeled drive in CA, and yearly, it records more deaths second only to Florida.
Most motorcycle wrecks involve crashing against another vehicle. In the last ten years, accidents involving riders without a helmet have risen exponentially, and the numbers keep climbing.
It is most common in Southern California and primarily affects males between the ages of 24 to 35. The primary cause of motorcycle accidents are riders driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both.
Another common cause is over-speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Distractions while driving, lane splitting, tail lighting, and poor weather conditions also contribute.
To stay safe and prevent accidents, riders are always advised to wear their helmet, avoid drinking before driving, obey traffic laws, and pay rapt attention to the road.
