Joey Trianders Allen and One Other Dead in LA Sunday Crash

Joey Trianders

In the early hours of Sunday, February 16th, an accident on the 405 Freeway near Getty Center, Los Angeles, left Joey Trianders Allen, 43, dead, and two others injured. His car got crashed into by one of the injured persons.

Allen was travelling on the northbound lanes of Bel-Air Crest Road in a 2000 Jaguar S-Type at about 2 a.m. when a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Pickup crashed into him. The latter was driven by Marco Abrego, 42, of Northridge.

Abrego was driving in the northbound lane, but heading south. Crashing into the Jaguar sent it spinning until it struck a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by an unnamed woman.

Allen died on the scene, while Abrego and the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation by the California Highway Patrol and the police uncovered that the pickup driver was driving under the influence.

Abrego was taken to county jail, and a county court set his bail at $100 000. The collision led to a SigAlert, and the road got closed off until 8 a.m.

Two hours later, the CHP got another call of a collision at the eastbound 210 Freeway, east of Huntington Drive, Monrovia.  A woman driving a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz took the wrong way, heading west.

The unnamed woman had a head-on collision with a 2017 Toyota Tacoma driven by an unnamed 19-year-old Hemet native. The Chevrolet driver died at the scene, while the teenager suffered severe injuries.

He is undergoing treatment for a broken pelvis and legs. The CHP and local police are investigating the cause of both crashes, and have asked motorists to avoid taking the wrong-way and exercise caution while driving.
