Motorist Jose David Zaragoza Kills Female Pedestrian in Madera

The expertise of a car accident lawyer may be required in the Madera area of California, after a 19-year-old man struck a woman with his vehicle, leading to her death. The incident took place late at night on Sunday, April 12.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed the fatal crash, reporting that it occurred at about 10:30 pm on Road 26, north of Madera.

According to the CHP, the fatal victim, a 55-year-old unidentified woman, was wheeling a shopping cart across the street. Just before she made it through, an approaching Kia Soul ran her over, causing fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene by responding paramedics.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Kia, whom authorities identified as Jose David Zaragoza, 19, drove off the scene, without stopping to investigate the crash.

Upon reaching his destination, the teenager noticed a significant front-end damage done to his vehicle and reportedly drove back to the scene of the wreck almost immediately.

Zaragoza turned himself in to the police as the perpetrator of the fatal collision. He, however, maintained that he left the scene initially because he was unaware that the vehicle had struck a pedestrian.

He cooperated with the investigating officers, supplying all the information requested.

Although Zaragoza has not been charged with any offence yet, he is obliged to seek counsel from a car accident lawyer. That would ensure he is adequately represented during subsequent investigations.
