Jose Ramos Identified as Pedestrian Killed in San Jose Traffic Collision

A top accident lawyer would come in handy following the identification of a pedestrian killed this week in a hit-and-run accident in San Jose, California. The Medical Examiner’s Office of the Santa Clara County identified the victim on Thursday, June 4, as Jose Ramos, a 63-year-old San Jose resident.

The traffic collision took place just after midnight on Wednesday, June 3, at the intersection of Interstate 280 and Highway 87. Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies and the California Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash at precisely 12:20 a.m.

CHP investigators determined that the fatal victim was walking on the roadside in the northbound lane of I-280. He was reportedly heading towards the southbound I-87 when an approaching vehicle traveling through the north traffic lanes knocked him over. Patrol officers are yet to establish why the pedestrian was plying the route at the time.

First responders pronounced Ramos dead at the scene. The motorist that struck him fled after the accident, and no information about his identity or the type of vehicle he was driving is available at this time.

Following the crash, traffic officers shut down parts of the southbound Interstate 87 near West Alma Avenue until 1:10 am. The ramp from northbound Interstate 280 and southbound 87 remained closed until 2:45 a.m.

The CHP is heading the investigation into the hit-and-run crash.

A top accident lawyer can stand in as a legal representative for crash victims or their families if the need arises to pursue a lawsuit.
