Klayton H. Kidd Identified as Deceased Victim of Cambria Accident

An accident report update from Cambria, California, released on Thursday, May 28th, disclosed the name of the man who died in a traffic collision earlier this month. The California Highway Patrol revealed the name of the victim as Klayton H. Kidd, 70, of Morro Bay.

The accident that sent the man to the afterlife took place on Friday, May 15th, in the southbound lanes of Highway 1 near Ardath Drive. The preliminary crash report showed that a Jeep driven by an unidentified motorist was turning when it struck Kidd.

The deceased was riding a motorcycle and passed away from the injuries sustained in the accident. The authorities did not state if Kidd succumbed to his wounds at the accident site or in a hospital. But they ruled out the influence of drugs or alcohol in the fatal crash.

The driver of the Jeep was not cited, and the police won’t charge him or her. There is no additional information at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

Auto-motorcycle crashes are more fatal for the motorcyclist than the driver of a vehicle. The California Department of Motor Vehicles advises riders to protect themselves with protective apparels and US-DOT helmets that provide face and eye covering.

A motorcyclist should wear a leather or long sleeve jacket with reflective material, long heavy pants, ankle closed-toe boots, and full-fingered gloves. When an auto-motorcycle crash occurs, those involved should file an accident report immediately to increase the motorcycle rider’s chances of survival.
