At least two people suffered injuries last week, including a female motorist whose vehicle got struck by an alleged DUI driver in Sonora, California. Authorities on Sunday, May 10, released the identity of the woman, who may involve a car injury lawyer, as Krysta May, 22.
The incident took place on Tuesday, May 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup and an SUV collided at about 6:10 a.m. on Highway 108 at Hidden Acres, leaving the operators of both vehicles injured.
The initial reports revealed that May was driving a 2020 Toyota SUV through the westbound travel lanes on 108. At the same time, a 2007 GMC pickup truck was traveling along the eastbound lanes. Officers said the truck suddenly veered into the west traffic lanes, where it immediately collided head-on with the westbound SUV.
May suffered minor injuries in the crash, and responding paramedics tended her wounds at the scene and released her. The other motorist, who authorities identified as 55-year-old Douglas Spruner, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Medics transported him to Adventist Health Sonora to receive treatment.
Deputies suspected Sprunner of being under the influence at the time of the accident. Upon his discharge from the health facility, police took him into custody on DUI suspicion.
The CHP is still investigating the almost-fatal occurrence.
Victims injured in traffic collisions can contact a car injury lawyer for counsel. If the fault of the crash rests solely on the other party, the victim can pursue an injury lawsuit, and by so doing, secure maximum compensation for resulting losses.
