Mentally Ill Long Beach Man Shot by Police

A civil lawsuit has been brought against Officer Dominick Scaccia and Thomas Gibson by the surviving family members of Roketi Su’e who was shot five times and killed May 2008 in front of his home on East 67th Street.
According to Officer Gibson and Scaccia, Su’e was acting aggressively and they shot in defense of their lives.

Family members aren’t buying this however, arguing that although Su’e was mentally ill, he was also dying of cancer and weighed only 145 pounds.  The deceased’s mother, Sagaia Su’e, is suing the city for an unspecified amount in damages.

Civil cases like this can be very difficult to try and it takes the experience of an experienced wrongful death attorney to win your case in court.  When a loved one is killed due to the actions of someone else, the circumstances could very well warrant a wrongful death lawsuit.  If you desire compassionate and knowledgeable representation, contact our sponsoring lawyers for a free consultation and get the justice your loved one deserves when their life is tragically cut short.
