Madeline Walton Sustains Injuries in Lindsay Auto-Motorcycle Collision

A female motorcyclist sustained severe injuries following an auto-motorcycle accident in California’s Lindsay area on Thursday afternoon, September 3rd. Madeline Walton, 29, traveled in the area of Highway 137 and Road 196.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the crash site around 12:44 p.m. on the highway, also known as West Tulare Road. The accident report showed that Walton’s motorcycle collided with a minivan for unknown reasons close to where H-137 and Road 196 intersect.

The CHP said that firefighters responded to the scene and provided help to the woman. They took her to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with a compound fracture. The investigators did not state if the driver of the minivan stopped after the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

When an accident occurs, it leads to a series of legal issues depending on the case’s facts and circumstances. Standard charges that arise from crashes are hit-and-run, driving under the influence, and vehicular manslaughter.

The California Vehicle Code provides what constitutes the offenses, and the punishment(s) offenders are likely to face. A person can answer for one of the crimes or all of them, and a prison term and payment of fine cuts across the trio.

When the offense is a DUI, the offender would also have his driving privileges revoked and attend a compulsory alcohol reeducation program. The severity of the punishment depends on the number of times the offender has been arrested on the same charge(s).
