The expertise of a drunk driving attorney would come in handy after an alleged DUI crash in Santa Rosa, California left two motorists hospitalised. Authorities recorded the collision on the morning of Wednesday, May 13.
Reporting the incident, the California Highway Patrol said it occurred at about 8:55 a.m., on Guerneville Road, just east of Willowside Road. One of the victims was allegedly drinking while behind the wheels, which led to the near-fatal wreck.
The incident began when a tow truck driver fixing a female motorist’s flats spotted her gulping alcohol. The driver immediately notified authorities, but the woman fled in her 2009 Chevrolet Malibu before officers arrived.
Minutes later, the driver, identified as Megan Worrall, a 31-year-old resident of Sebastopol, was driving erratically through the west lanes of travel on Guerneville Road. The Malibu suddenly veered sideways, crossing the double yellow lines into the eastbound traffic where a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling. The two cars collided.
While Worrall suffered major injuries in the encounter, the operator of the Chevrolet, a 37-year-old man from Forestville, sustained moderate injuries. Emergency responders arrived soon after and transported both victims to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The CHP accident reports described their injuries as non-life-threatening.
Deputies believe Worrall was under the influence at the time of the crash. They arrested her on charges of DUI, and would book her once she gets discharged from the hospital.
A drunk driving attorney can provide motorists facing DUI charges with legal counsel, and if deemed necessary, stand in as their legal representative.
