Motorist Nicole Johnson and Her Sole Passenger Die in Oakland Crash

Nicole Johnson

Two people were killed on Sunday in Oakland, California, after a vehicle swerved off the freeway and collided with a concrete barrier. Authorities disclosed the name of the female driver as Nicole Johnson, 32. The identity of the male passenger was revealed as Cleophas Fuller, a 33-year-old resident of Oakland.

The fatal crash occurred on Sunday, April 5, as stated in the police accident reports provided. Police officers were dispatched to the scene of the crash, at the area of Seventh Street and Frontage Road upon reports of a single-car collision involving a two-occupant vehicle.

Responding officers determined that a Honda Civic, operated by a female motorist, was reportedly traveling towards the Interstate 880 Freeway.

For reasons not yet established, the vehicle drifted off course, exiting the edge of the highway before it brutally slammed into a concrete wall. The car was severely dented as a result.

Firefighters with the Oakland Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after and made attempts to rescue the two occupants trapped inside the wrecked car. However, both victims were pronounced dead on the scene upon their extraction from the wreckage.

It was not immediately determined if drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash that killed Nicole Johnson and her passenger.

The case is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol to determine the cause of the collision. The final accident reports on the fatalities would be released once the investigative findings and subsequent results prove conclusive.
