Nicholas Streit, Three Family Members Die in Tragic Crash


In a tragic incident that occurred on Thursday, July 23, four members of a family lost their lives. The incident involved a single-vehicle crash that took place in the Amador County as per the initial accident reports. The crash resulted in a fire which engulfed the vehicle in which the family was traveling.

Authorities had initially withheld the identity of the victims. However, the deceased have now been identified by their relatives as Nicholas Streit, his wife Alisa Streit and their young kids Christopher and Tyler.

According to the details available so far, the Streit family was traveling northbound on the Latrobe Road when they ran into the accident. Witness accounts and accident reconstruction show that the driver of the vehicle in which the Streit family was traveling attempted to cross double yellow lines. It was then that the driver saw another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The driver then veered back into the lane but overcorrected and went off the roadway.

The car then rolled a number of times before coming to rest. It caught fire resulting in the death of all four occupants. By the time the first responders and law enforcement arrived on the scene of the crash, the unfortunate occupants of the vehicle had already succumbed to the flames and injuries.
