Two people got injured in a two-vehicle traffic wreck that left one motorist dead over the weekend in Lancaster, California. The incident took place on the evening of Sunday, June 21, and calls for the intervention of a car injury lawyer.

The California Highway Patrol reported the crash just after 5:41 p.m. According to the CHP records, 31-year-old Erik Mezhlumyan and 34-year-old Mikael Mezhlumyan encountered a traffic collision at the intersection of Avenue H and 90th Street. The two Tujunga residents ended up hospitalized with moderate to major injuries as a result of the crash.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 27-year-old man from Lancaster was also involved in the encounter. The man was driving a 2001 Dodge 3500 truck on the north travel lanes of 90th Street East towards the intersection. Mezhlumyan’s vehicle, a 1999 Ford F-350 pickup, was also crossing the intersection at the time. The Dodge collided with the truck for reasons yet unknown.

The operator of the Dodge suffered fatal injuries in the collision, and emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.  CHP officials withheld the fatal victim’s identity pending notification of his next of kin.

Meanwhile, an ambulance conveyed Erik and Mikael Mezhlumyan to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions at this time are unknown. Detectives do not believe drugs and alcohol contributed to the occurrence.

Following the wreck, traffic officers shut down Avenue H and 90th Street at the intersection for hours as onsite investigation and clearing out continued.

Injured victims of traffic collisions should reach out to a car injury lawyer in due time, to ensure they get compensated for damages stemming from the mishap.
