Police Identifies the Suspect Vehicle Involved in the Accident in San Bruno that Killed Jasmine Corley

The suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that fatally injured Jasmine Corley, 41, in San Bruno, California, has been identified. In a press release by the San Bruno Police on Monday, September 28th, Lt. Brent Schimek described it as a light-colored, likely silver, 2009 to 2012 Chevrolet Traverse.

Schimek added that the vehicle would have significant damage to the front end and possibly a broken windshield and passenger side headlight. The crash happened on July 10th around 11:40 p.m. in the 1100-block of El Camino Real.

Jasmine’s father, Ron, said in the accident report that a Chevrolet SUV traveling at 40 miles per hour struck and threw her 50 feet into the air. The victim sustained severe brain damage, a split spine, broken spleen, and sliced liver.

The woman spent two weeks in the intensive care unit at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office said that the victim’s family took her off life support on July 24th, and she passed away.

A surveillance video from a store in the crash site vicinity showed that the Chevrolet driver stopped for about 20 seconds before driving off. The motorist never alighted from the vehicle, and a witness in the convenience store called 911.

The driver remains at large, and the police want the public’s help in locating the individual. Schimek said that anyone with information on the vehicle or the owner should contact the station on the listed line.
