24-year-old Jacob Taylor of Petaluma has been identified as the fatal victim of a solo car crash on Gyle Road in the Red Bluff area of California. The man’s identity was made public on Thursday, July 2nd.

Facts from the car accident report released by the California Highway Patrol showed that the victim lost his life last week, precisely on Thursday, June 25th. Taylor was westbound in a 1989 Toyota pickup on Gyle Road at about 1 a.m. when he lost control of it as he tried to negotiate a curve east of Paskenta Road.

The CHP said that the truck went off the roadway, and as the man tried to regain control of the car, it overturned into a field. The crash ejected Taylor and a 21-year-old unnamed passenger from Glendale, Arizona. The two were not wearing seatbelts.

The victim sustained fatal wounds, and the paramedics pronounced him dead. The passenger suffered moderate injuries, and the medics used an air ambulance to transport the person to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. The CHP said that drugs or alcohol might have played a role in the accident.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and witnesses or anyone with helpful information can contact the CHP Red Bluff Office on the listed line. Seatbelts are crucial for drivers and passengers when in transit. Failure to wear it is a traffic offense, and offenders are liable to pay a fine, and additionally, a motorist would have points attached to his or her driver’s license.
