Deputies: Savannah Nardli Killed In Dui Wreck In Roseburg

An Oregon was arrested on drunk-driving charges Saturday after a single-vehicle wreck in Roseburg that claimed the life of his passenger, according to authorities.

Investigators said Andrew J. Clements, 22, and Savannah J. Nardli, 22, both of Roseburg, were ejected during the rollover crash, which occurred just after midnight Saturday. Clements was briefly hospitalized while Nardli ultimately was pronounced dead at the scene, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Deputies said Clements was driving on a gravel road on public property locally known as Long’s Ranch. Clements vehicle, which was traveling at about 20 mph, left the roadway and tumbled 150 feet down an embankment, according to authorities.

“EMS attempted lifesaving efforts on Nardli, which were ultimately unsuccessful,” deputies wrote in the press release. “Clements suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for evaluation.”

Clements was released and then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, according to the press release.

The crash remains under investigation.

Several friends of Nardli posted memorials to the 22-year-old on Facebook after news of her death was announced.

“I have known you for a long time, but it still doesn’t feel long enough,” wrote one friend, who also expressed her condolences to Nardli’s family.
