Kent Lang and Francisco Lopez Killed in Sacramento Head-On Collision

Two men died in a head-on collision in Sacramento, California. On Thursday, September 10th, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office revealed one of the victim’s names as Kent Lang, 76, of West Sacramento.

The coroner identified the second victim as Francisco Clyde Tidwell Lopez, 59. The car accident report showed that the collision took place on Wednesday, September 9th, on Old River Road.

The event leading to the crash began with Lang behind the wheel of a 2017 Ford F-150 southbound on the roadway south of County Road 124. At the same time, a 2016 Ford Fusion was heading north.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Fusion swerved into the southbound lane and collided with the F-150. The investigators said that Lopez allegedly traveled at top speed.

Lang drove recklessly and passed unsafely before the collision. An air ambulance conveyed him to UC Davis Medical Center to treat moderate injuries, but he passed away. A 73-year-old female passenger in the F-150 survived with non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at the same hospital.

Lopez succumbed to his injuries at the crash site. The investigation into the occurrence is ongoing. There is no additional information.

When a motor vehicle accident occurs, it often leads to adverse legal consequences that result in either jail time or compensation, or both. When the person who caused the accident dies, a surviving victim can bring a civil lawsuit against his or her estate to get damages for the loss suffered.
