Matthew Pairish Dies in Interstate 680 Rollover Accident

A male driver passed away in the San Ramon area of California, early on Tuesday, March 24th. The authorities identified him as Matthew Pairish, 32.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver lost control of his car, causing it to roll over, and go down an embankment. The accident occurred near Bollinger Canyon Road exit on the transition ramp from the interstate.

Tyler Hahn, the CHP spokesman, said there was no curve on the road, and they are yet to uncover why Pairish lost control of his vehicle. So far, the CHP has not spoken to any witness, but the investigation remains active.

Hahn said there would be an autopsy to determine the cause of death and find out if a medical event led to the accident or if drugs or alcohol played a role.

Driver’s impairment is one of the leading causes of accidents in California and the United States of America. Impairment under this head is driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Statistics have shown that alcohol-impaired drivers cause about 1/3 of road collisions. Drunk driving is often hazardous and leads to fatalities or life-altering wounds.

Another common cause of accidents is over speeding with 50% of drivers going over the speed limit ending up in a car crash. Thirty-seven percent of all speeding drivers are under the influence of alcohol.

The best way to avoid accidents while under the influence is not going behind the wheel and using a designated driver instead.
