Rodney Hu Intentionally Struck and Killed by a Hit-and-Run Motorist in Stockton

A 45-year-old karate instructor and another victim were intentionally run over by a vehicle in the parking lot of a mall located in the Stockton area of California. The tragic occurrence, which led to the death of the beloved instructor, took place on Saturday, May 2.

The Stockton community has been in mourning since the tragedy, prompting the likely intervention of a top accident lawyer to ensure that the suspect is dealt the full impact of the law.

The fatal encounter was reported at about 3:30 pm on the said day. Stockton Police Officers responded to the crash, which they said took place in the area of West Hammer Lane and Don Avenue, shortly after it was called in.

Investigations conducted at the crash site, backed by witness accounts revealed that the fatal victim, accompanied by an unidentified woman, was at the parking lot, just in front of Food Source when the incident happened.

According to the reports, the suspect, whose name was disclosed as Dontae Alfonso Wilburn, 34, kickstarted his vehicle in the direction of the victims and struck them. He then fled the scene of the encounter before the police arrived.

While the 44-year-old female victim suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene, the karate instructor, identified as Rodney Hu, 45, of the Goju Karate studio, was transported to an area hospital, where sadly, he died from his injuries.

Eyewitnesses attested that the crash was intentional as the motorist, earlier on, had a verbal dispute with the victims, which aggravated him and may have led to his actions.

The suspect was eventually arrested and booked into a county jail on suspicion of homicide, felony hit-and-run causing death, and resisting arrest.

A top accident lawyer would ensure that the suspect that caused Hu’s death is brought to justice.
