Street Racers Killed in Los Angeles Crash IDed as Nathaniel Joseph, Keante Huyett

Reports of car accidents involving street racers are not uncommon in California, and three new fatalities were recorded on Monday morning, resulting from the street nuisance. The identities of the two victims who died in a traffic crash during a street race in Los Angeles were on Wednesday, April 1, released as Nathaniel Joseph, 28 and Keante Hoyett, 27.

The incident took place at about 2 am on Monday, March 30, at the interchange of Highland and Melrose Avenues. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that two motorists were engaged in a street race on the southbound lanes of Highland Avenue, both driving BMW Sedans.

Just as they approached the exit ramp, just south of Melrose Avenue, the two vehicles collided, crashing into palm trees situated off the road.

The drivers of the sedans, Hoyett and Joseph, were dealt fatal injuries in the crash and both were pronounced dead on the scene. However, the passengers in each car were rescued alive and transported to the hospital, where one of them, a 30-year-old man, later succumbed to his wounds.

The injury of the second passenger was listed as non-life-threatening. The names of the two passengers were not disclosed in the report.

The LAPD implored anyone with useful information to get in touch with the police to facilitate investigations. It is essential that every eye witness complies, and reports car accidents to the appropriate quarters.
