The young boy who was killed in a pickup truck versus ATV collision at the intersection of Rubidoux Boulevard and Market Street in Jurupa Valley, California, on Wednesday, March 4, has been identified by the police.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the fatal accident involving a teenage boy hit by a heavy-duty pickup truck as he rode along Rubidoux road on his all-terrain vehicle at about 5 pm.
According to police reports obtained by the press, the deadly collision took place between Rubidoux Boulevard and Market Street and claimed the life of a sixteen-year-old who has now been identified as Alexander Batisda.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the young man was riding on an ATV across the intersection of the two streets, while the heavy-duty truck was moving north on Rubidoux. On getting to the intersection, the pickup collided with the all-terrain vehicle operated by the teenager. Batisda was pronounced dead on the spot upon the arrival of paramedics.
The motorist operating the other vehicle involved in the fatal wreck did not sustain any injury as a result of the collision. The distressed driver remained on the scene until the arrival of the CHP and supplied the requested information to the authorities without incident.
It was not immediately made clear if charges would be pressed against the surviving motorist. The name of the pickup driver was not specified in the police reports, nor were other information and findings regarding the incident released.
