Victor Cruz Identified as Victim of Arvin Multi-Vehicle Crash

The man who was killed in an accident this week after his car encountered a three-vehicle crash near Arvin, California, has been identified, and a car accident lawyer is likely to get involved in the case. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, May 5th, disclosed the deceased’s identity as Victor Cruz, a 35-year-old man from Bakersfield.

The incident took place on Monday morning, May 4th, according to reports obtained from the California Highway Patrol. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the crash location at about 5:15 a.m., following reports of a traffic disruption resulting from a three-vehicle crash on State Route 223 and Fairfax Road.

Investigators gathered that one of the vehicles involved was a Lexus, which was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed along Fairfax Road prior to the accident.

Upon approaching its intersection with SR 223, the speeding motorist, who previously made several unsafe passes, failed to slow down at the limit line, entering the intersection against the opposite bound traffic.

As a result, he was t-boned by a Mini Cooper which was westbound on the state route and had the right of way. The impact of the collision pushed the struck Lexus into a nearby field. The Cooper was also offset a little, causing it to veer into the path of a Toyota Tundra traveling east on SR 223.

The Toyota sideswiped the Cooper, resulting only in surface damages. When the emergency response crew arrived, they found the Lexus operator, Victor Cruz, unresponsive in his vehicle and declared him dead at the scene.

The occupants of the other two vehicles emerged from the traffic wreck unscathed. Following the crash, all lanes of SR 223 and Fairfax Road remained closed for several hours. The accident is under active investigation.

Anyone involved in a traffic incident can consult a car accident lawyer for representation.
