Police have now identified the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash that took place in the Iron County on Friday, February 28. The victim has been identified as Glorious Theresa Ross, 56, of Bark River.
According to the details shared by the police, the accident took place in the Crystal Falls Township area. The Iron County Central Dispatch was notified of the crash at about 3:03 p.m. In the dispatch, the police were told that a vehicle had crashed on the U.S. Highway 141.
Police and rescue personnel found the vehicle lying upside down on the site of the crash. The crash itself had happened close to the intersection of the Kohon Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle had crashed into the guard rail by the roadside, then overturned due to the collision and come to rest inside an embankment.
A number of agencies assisted in the help, rescue and investigations at the site of the accident. These included Crystal Falls Fire Department, Iron County Search and Rescue, Aspirus Emergency Medical Services, Michigan State Police and the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
Once the authorities reached the site of the accident, attempts were made to revive Glorious Theresa Ross, who was the unfortunate driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. However, these attempts failed and Ross was pronounced dead. Investigations are ongoing into the crash and the police are yet to identify the exact cause of the accident. So far, speeding and alcohol have not been ruled out by the police.
