Authorities: Kharlen Bryant Seriously Injured In Crash Near Ephrata

Authorities have identified the driver who was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries Thursday night after crashing his vehicle on a highway near Ephrata.

Kharlen Bryant, 31, of Moses Lake, was ejected from her vehicle in the wreck, which occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Washington 2, according to the Washington State Patrol. No other vehicles were involved and no additional injuries were reported.

Authorities said Bryant was driving west on Washington 28 on Thursday when she lost control of her vehicle near the intersection with Washington 283. The sedan went off the roadway and rolled, finally coming to rest in brush near the highway, troopers said.

The force of the crash caused Bryant to be ejected, according to the Washington State Patrol. It wasn’t immediately clear whether she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the wreck.

Bryant was transported via LifeFlight to Central Washington Hospital Wenatchee for treatment of serious injuries, troopers told area media outlets.

Investigators did not say whether other factors, such as speed or intoxication, are thought to have contributed to the incident. The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.

A condition report on Bryant wasn’t available Sunday.
