Kenneth Gliddon Seriously Injured In Suspected DUI Wreck In Ferry County

Authorities said a man suffered serious injuries in a suspected DUI crash Monday night in Ferry County.

Kenneth Gliddon, 41, of Republic, was taken to a Spokane trauma center via lifeflight after the crash, which occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Monday, according to the Washington State Patrol. No other injuries or vehicles were involved in the wreck, car accident reports state.

Troopers said Gliddon was driving north on Washington 21 in Ferry County at about 10:15 p.m. Monday when he lost control of his vehicle. Gliddon’s pickup truck went off the road and rolled several times before finally coming to a rest in a ditch, according to car accident reports.

Gliddon was ejected during the crash and sustained serious injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a Ferry County hospital for treatment, but he later was airlifted to a Spokane trauma center.

An updated condition report wasn’t available Tuesday evening. Car accident reports did not say whether Gliddon was wearing a seatbelt when he crashed.

Troopers said Gliddon likely was intoxicated at the time of the wreck and a driving under the influence charge is pending. Car accident reports also state that a deer was somehow involved in the crash, though details were scarce.

The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the incident. Troopers have not said whether they suspect the involvement of other factors, such as excessive speed, inattentive driving or poor road conditions.
