A woman died last week in a traffic crash after a vehicle she was traveling in skidded off the road and slammed into a tree in Stanwood, Washington. On Tuesday, April 14, the authorities revealed the charges levied against the driver of the vehicle, and he would require the services of a car accident lawyer.
The incident took place on Friday, April 10, at about 3:40 pm, near the 28,900 block of 80th Avenue NW. Preliminary investigations determined that a vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old Mouth Vernon man, was traveling along the roadway when for unknown reasons, he let the vehicle veer off the shoulder of the road.
The out-of-control car then crashed into a tree located off the road, expelling the driver, Ilya Stepanovich Hrudzko, and a female passenger in the process.
While the motorist survived the tragic wreck with major injuries, the woman was fatally injured and was pronounced dead by emergency responders.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, on Monday, April 13, identified the fatal victim, who was the sole passenger in the car, as 20-year-old Ceanna J. Diller of Stanwood. The reports confirmed Diller’s cause of death as blunt force injuries.
Hrudzko was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital, for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
He was later discharged from the hospital, and booked into the Snohomish County Jail, on charges of vehicular homicide.
The suspect was released on Monday, April 13, after posting a $10,000 bond.
Anyone involved in a car accident should seek legal counsel from an experienced car accident lawyer before advancing on the next course of action.
