Dad Runs Over and Kills 2-year-old Son in Tragic Accident

A young child died Wednesday evening after his father unwittingly hit him with their SUV while backing out of the driveway.  The two year old Moreno boy was struck at around 7:56 p.m. at the 24900 block of Eucalyptus Avenue.  The Dodge Durango was being driven by the child’s father, 29-year old Juan Lopez, at the time of the incident.

The boy was immediately delivered to the Riverside County Memorial Medical Center where he died shortly after. An investigation into the accident is underway.

Statistically speaking, this sad scenario plays out very often. Although most are just tragic mistakes some of these accidents could have been caused my malfunctioning auto parts.  If for instance, the side view mirrors were not up to industry regulation, or the breaks suddenly fail, the heartbreaking accident described above could happen as well.  Little is known about the tragedy surrounding the above boy’s death but for so many the answer is clear—their vehicle did not perform as it should.  If an auto manufacturer’s negligence caused the death of someone you love, you do have legal recourse.  Contact them to learn more about product liability lawsuits and hold those who are responsible for your loved ones death accountable for their actions.
