Thursday evening, Becky Sheehan, 35, was riding her bicycle near Stanton Avenue and Page Street when a pickup truck hit her. Shortly after being rushed to Anaheim Regional Medical Center, she died from her injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not identified, and investigators have yet to announce a cause for the accident. It is still unclear why the truck ran into Sheehan.
Cyclists are allowed to ride in the roadway, and drivers are required by law to give them three feet of clearance. Thousands of cyclists are injured and killed every year by drivers failing to observe basic rules of the road.
