A UC Santa Cruz student has died, a week after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident in Santa Cruz.
Alexandria Arceneaux, 20, was walking along Highway 1 between River and Mission Streets with friends on October 30, when she was struck by a car. The incident happened around 2 a.m. and the driver fled the scene. Police said Arceneaux was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition, but died Saturday surrounded by family.
Investigators believe that the vehicle involved was a 2010-2012 silver Honda CRV. Police are seeking help from the public to find the driver who remains at large.
Arceneaux, from the South Bay area, was in her junior year at UC Santa Cruz studying theater arts.
