Maria Hernandez, 60, Struck and Killed by Taxi in Anaheim, Orange County


In a tragic pedestrian crash in Anaheim on Wednesday December 5, 2012, 60-year-old Maria Hernandez was struck and killed by a Taxi who fled the scene. The crash happened at the intersection of Gilbert Street and Katella Avenue as Hernandez was crossing the street.

TAXI CAB FLEES SCENE

The taxi-cab, described as a yellow taxi minivan was last seen headed southbound on Meridian Ave. Police are asking the community for assistance in locating the driver.

DETAILS OF CRASH UNKNOWN

At this time, details of how the crash happened are unknown. What we do know is that the crash occurred at 5:55am on Wednesday December 5, 2012 at the intersection of Gilbert Street and Katella Avenue. Maria Hernandez was 60 years old and was immediately taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where she was pronounced dead less than two-hours later. As the police continue their investigation, it is anticipated that a final report wont be completed for several weeks.
