After a fatal weekend accident in Beloit, Illinois, 33 year old Chad Hummel is facing charges for homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
Hummel and a passenger failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into a car carrying four people, including 82 year old Eldon L. Bailey. Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene, and his three passengers were taken to a local hospital. Two were released after treatment, one remains at the hospital.
Beloit police were able to secure a warrant to draw Hummel’s blood following the accident, which later showed he was impaired. He also faces a probation hold, following the arrest.
