The Alameda County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, February 11th, identified 55-year-old David Davis of Salida as the victim of a single-vehicle crash. The accident happened south of Pleasanton, and the deceased was already dead before California Highway Patrol found him.

The coroner’s office has not released the cause of death of the deceased or the exact time when he passed. The CHP is also still investigating the possible cause of the accident and has asked anyone with information to contact their Pleasanton office.

The body of Davis was discovered on the morning of Friday, February 7th, about 8:15 a.m. He was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta that sustained damage to its roof and front from the wreck.

The CHP found the car twenty to thirty feet down the road. The deceased was in the area of Sunol Road and Castle Drive, which is west of 1-680.

A commuter driving through the route saw the vehicle and contacted the authorities. By the time the CHP arrived, the engine of Davis’ car had gone cold, and there was nothing EMT officials could do for him.

The state of California is the most populous in the United States, with residents and visitors alike. The motor accident rate in CA is .92 per 100 million vehicle miles traveled.

For every 100 000 people, there is a 7.9 percent fatality rate. To reduce the number and fatality rate, traffic officials have advised motorists to always get plenty of rest before driving.

Drivers should always keep both hands on the wheel. They should also stay right, make proper lane changes, avoid distractions, maximize visibility, keep a lookout, and drive within the speed limit.
