Two-Vehicle Collision in Los Angeles Leaves Bladimir Santos Dead

Bladimir Santos

On Sunday, February 16th, a two-vehicle collision in Los Angeles, California, left one person dead and two others injured. The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as Bladimir Santos, 29.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 1:44 a.m. in the areas of Manchester and Budlong Avenues. Santos was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the other vehicle and his passenger suffered minor injuries.

The two got treated at the scene, without going to the hospital. The CHP and the LAPD have no idea what could have led to the accident, and they are working together to put the pieces together.

At the time of this report, the LAPD and the CHP have not stated on whose side the liability lies. But they also did not find any impairment on the part of the injured driver.

Vehicle collisions are not uncommon in Los Angeles. Authorities have provided tips on the best way for those involved in accidents to conduct themselves.

Drivers should never flee the scene of an accident, as doing so is an offense under California law, punishable with jail time and a fine. When there is no death, but there are injuries, those involved in the crash should call for an ambulance immediately.

Take note of the surroundings where the accident happened, and try to gather relevant and accurate information for the police. Take photos of any damage to property, and only sign papers delivered by the police.

Stay at the scene until the police conclude its preliminary investigation and clears the area. If a driver has liability in the accident, he or she should contact an attorney before answering more questions from the police.
