The Los Angeles Police on Monday, February 24th, identified the man who died in the two-vehicle crash on Rosemead Boulevard. He is 27-year-old Rafael Flores, of Baldwin Park.
Flores died on the afternoon of Sunday, February 23rd after he crashed his car into a big rig truck at about 12:20 a.m. The accident happened on Rosemead Avenue, south of San Gabriel Boulevard near Montebello.
The deceased was driving a sedan when he suddenly went down an embankment and ended up colliding with the rig. When first responders, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, arrived at the scene, Flores was already dead.
The deceased had two passengers in the car with him, and one of them was critically injured, but alive. The two got transported to a nearby hospital where they received treatment.
The crash is under the investigation of the California Highway Patrol. At the time of this report, they have not released additional information, and will update the public when they uncover something new.
