Authorities Name David Luna Sanchez as Motorist Killed in Las Vegas Roll Over Crash

Police have disclosed the identity of a man who was killed earlier this week in a tragic solo-vehicle crash, off Highway 95 in the Northwest region of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Clark County Coroner’s Office, on Thursday, April 23, identified the fatal victim as David Luna Sanchez, a 21-year-old resident of Las Vegas, according to the accident reports.

The deadly crash took place at night on Tuesday, April 21, near the mile marker 98 of the highway. Officers of the Nevada Highway were alerted of the incident just after 9:20 pm.

Investigators determined that Sanchez was the driver of a 2004 Ford Expedition, which was moving through the north travel lanes on U.S Highway 95.

For reasons yet to be established, the vehicle drifted off the roadway, into the right unpaved shoulder, where it collided with a road marker, positioned off the Kyle Canyon turnoff.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to cross back into the roadway and flip over, coming to rest on its roof.

Paramedics arrived at the site of the crash shortly after and pronounced the motorist dead from fatal injuries sustained. He was the only occupant of the wrecked vehicle when the crash happened, the accident reports confirm.

An investigation into the cause of the traffic collision, which marks the 13th vehicle fatality recorded in the Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command, is underway.
