Authorities Release Details of Culver City Accident that Killed Gregory Murray


A fatal accident in Culver City, California took the life of 33-year-old, Gregory Murray. The Culver City Police Department on Friday, March 13th, released the details of the events that sent the man to the afterlife.

The CCPD stated in its report that Murray passed away after getting hit by a vehicle on Monday, March 9th. The accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. near the southbound 405 Freeway, south of Venice Boulevard.

When first responders got to the scene, they found the deceased lying on the roadway, and he was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. The CCPD is actively investigating the accident, but there’s no information on the identity or the whereabouts of the driver that struck Murray.

There is also no information on the vehicle the driver was driving, and the report did not state whether or not the man stayed behind at the scene. Pedestrian fatalities occur very often in California and result in deaths.

Traffic officials have advised pedestrians to pay rapt attention to the road and avoid distractions when trying to cross. People crossing the road should always have a plan in mind, and it should cover using the designated crosswalks and zebra crossing.

Pedestrians should avoid crossing the road outside the designated areas. When on the sidewalk, keep away from the edge, and never cross on turns or the middle of an intersection.

Watch and listen and look for traffic in all directions before crossing. Never cross if unsure of the traffic situation, and stand away from the edge of the pavement while you wait.
