Authorities Identify Andreas Dimopoulos as Victim of Pomona Motorcycle Accident

The police in Pomona, Los Angeles County, California, identified the man who died in a fatal motorcycle crash. They released his name on Saturday, March 14th, as Andreas Dimopoulos, 41, a motorcycle rider.

Dimopoulos died on Friday, March 13th, after an SUV crashed into his motorcycle. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place at about 3:25 a.m. on Reservoir Street near Ninth Street.

The CHP said the SUV crashed into the deceased for unknown reasons. Dimopoulos, who was ejected from the bike at the point of collision, suffered severe injuries and was found unresponsive by first responders.

The paramedics at the scene pronounced him dead, and the driver of the SUV whose name was not revealed went unscathed. The driver stayed back at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The collision blocked Reservoir Street between Ninth and Seventh Streets, and it was reopened after CHP cleared the scene. There is no additional information at the time of this report, and the authorities have asked anyone with helpful information to call the Pomona Police Department.

When an accident occurs, authorities advise that those involved should not panic, but keep a level head. California Vehicle Code provides that a person involved in an accident should stop at the scene or the next possible place where traffic will not get impeded.

Call 911 if there’s an injured or dead person and collect witness statements before the witnesses disperse. When the authorities arrive, provide full and accurate contact details and driver’s license information.

Remain at the scene until the authorities clear it and be available for any follow-up question. When necessary, contact an attorney and discuss the possible legal implications, if any.
