Palm Springs Two-Vehicle Accident Ends the Lives of Phylis Newell and Carolyne Paradiso

Two women were killed following a traffic collision which occurred on Monday night in Palm Springs of Riverside County, California. The deadly occurrence, which left two other victims hospitalized with severe injuries, took place at about 11:25 pm on Monday, March 16.

Reporting the tragic incident, the California Highway Patrol divulged that officers were called to the area of Indian Canyon Drive and Vista Chino on reports of a traffic collision involving two vehicles.

It was gathered from investigations that a vehicle which was traveling through the north traffic lanes on Indian canyon above the permissible speed limit jumped the stop signal on the traffic light at the intersection of Indian Canyon Drive and Vista Chino.

The negligence caused the operator of the overspeeding car to collide with another vehicle, which had the right of way at the time of the crash, resulting in major damages.

The three commuters traveling in the hit car were gravely injured in the accident. Two of the passengers died instantly, as confirmed by paramedics. The third victim, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of her potentially life-threatening injuries.

The identities of the two dead females have been revealed as 68-year-old Phylis Newell of Lawton and Carolyne Paradiso of Duncan, both from Oklahoma.

The offending motorist also sustained severe injuries in the crash and was booked into the same hospital. Police suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the fatal incident. However, no arrests have been made.
