The female victim struck and killed in a bicycle accident which took place last week Saturday near a road intersection in Newport Beach, California, has been identified by the Orange County Coroner’s Office. Authorities on Wednesday, March 18, named the deceased as 45-year-old Aubrye Foote, a local of the southern California coastal city.

The tragic incident took place at about 11:20 pm on Saturday, March 14, just west of Newport Ridge Drive, and involved a bicycle and two cars, as reported by the coroner’s office.

The victim was reportedly riding her bicycle along San Joaquin Hills Road when she was hit by a Honda Insight and a Toyota SUV simultaneously at the interchange of Newport Ridge Drive.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the 45-year-old alongside her dented bicycle sprawled unconscious on the freeway, with multiple severe injuries.

Medics attended to the Newport Beach resident, transporting her to the Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center situated in Mission Viejo, California, where she battled for her life until midnight. She was pronounced dead at precisely 12:04 am on Sunday, the Orange County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

It was not immediately made clear if the motorists involved were apprehended as that information was withheld by the CHP. Investigators revealed that the cause of the tragic crash was yet to be established.

An update will be released by the Newport Beach Police as soon as investigations have been concluded.
