Police Officer Injured in Traffic Accident While Chasing Road Rage Suspect, David Park

At least two vehicles were damaged in Anaheim, California, following a police chase, which ended in an accident at the intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue. The incident took place at night on Monday, March 23, leaving an officer and another motorist injured.

Authorities reported that the Anaheim Police Department received a distress call at about 8 pm, reporting a motorist flaunting a firearm while driving along Anaheim Boulevard and Ball Road in a black Toyota.

A patrol officer operating a marked car set out to control the situation, with activated lights and sirens. However, while en route the direction of the road rage suspect, the police cruiser crashed into a Dodge Durango SUV from behind, at the intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue.

The impact of the collision forced the two vehicles in different directions, with the cruiser swaying past the sidewalk into a grassy patch. The rear end of the SUV was severely dented on the driver’s side, while the patrol car suffered ventral damages.

None of the victims were fatally injured; however, the operator of the other car complained of severe pains and was transported to the hospital for adequate medical attention.

Meanwhile, the armed driver was eventually intercepted by other officers during his flight. The motorist, who has since been identified as 42-year-old David Park of Fullerton, was arrested on charges of felony assault for pointing a gun.

No charges were filed against the suspect for possessing a firearm as he was licensed to own a concealed weapon.
