Alleged DUI Driver, Benjamin Noble Flee Accident Scene After Crashing Vehicle in Fresno

A man driving under the influence of alcohol fled the scene after striking another vehicle in northeast Fresno, California. Police arrested the suspect following the incident, which happened at night on Thursday, May 7, and would require the intervention of a drunk driving attorney.

Fresno Police Department disclosed that the two vehicles collided in the area of Cedar and Herndon avenues, at about 8:30 p.m. No casualty resulted from the encounter, authorities confirmed in a statement.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, identified as Benjamin Noble, 36, was behind the wheels of a white pickup truck. The truck was reportedly traveling erratically towards Herndon Avenue, striking several street signs on its path, before crashing into another vehicle.

The offending motorist failed to pull over and assess the damage to the other vehicle and its occupant but instead fled the scene. Witnesses said Noble crossed a center divider on Cedar Avenue in his flight.

Another motorist, who witnessed the occurrence, alerted the police and then followed in pursuit of the reckless driver. He trailed Noble to his home, where officers later showed up on a tip-off and took the traffic offender into custody.

They determined that he was under the influence at the time. The accident reports affirmed that the female motorist in the struck vehicle went unscathed.

Motorists involved in a DUI crash can contact a drunk driving attorney for representation.
