A motorcycle rider suffered injuries in a traffic collision involving his motorbike and a passing vehicle in Kennewick, Washington. The incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, May 13, and would require the expertise of a motorcycle attorney.

The Washington State Patrol recorded the crash shortly after 5 p.m., at the intersection of Highway 240, Highway 395, and Columbia Drive. The accident reports affirmed that the collision involved a motorcycle and a Toyota Corolla driving through the roundabout at the time.

According to the reports, the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed along Highway 240 in a Victory High Ball cycle. Upon approaching the intersection, the biker lost control of his two-wheeled vehicle and crashed into the Corolla. The man, identified as Kody S. Simmons, 31, of Pasco, ended up on the floor, with major injuries of undisclosed nature.

First responders transported the victim to Trios Southridge Hospital for treatment. No information about his current condition is available at this time.

Meanwhile, the motorist involved in the encounter with Simmons went unscathed. Authorities disclosed his identity as Joseph T. Derousie, 42, of West Richland.

The crash briefly closed down the Columbia Drive roundabout as the response crew worked to collect evidence and clear out the wreck. Simmons received a citation for driving too fast.

Motorcyclists speeding along highways is not uncommon in the state, and traffic officials have continued to stress the dangers it poses to road users. Yet, the occurrence of such incidents still prevails, prompting more bikers to explore the services of motorcycle attorneys.
